New year, new milestone! The Climate Pledge now includes 400 signatories! Among them, we welcome T-Mobile, the American wireless brand (and creator of the iconic 2000s era Sidekick mobile phone), as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the world’s largest professional services firm. 

In total, 400 companies across 55 industries and 35 countries, with 9.39M employees and a combined revenue of $3.83T, have signed The Climate Pledge to date. In doing so, they’ve committed to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2040—accelerating responsible climate action in every industry so our planet’s diverse communities, natural resources, and shared environments can thrive indefinitely.

New here? About the Pledge: in 2019, Amazon and Global Optimism co-founded The Climate Pledge. Each company that signs the Pledge commits to taking responsibility for decarbonizing their businesses and reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. As the number of Pledge signatories increases, we expand our potential to collaborate cross-sector and multiply our efforts in response to the current climate threat.

Signatories of The Climate Pledge agree to:

• Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis.
• Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies.
• Neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040—a decade ahead of the Paris Agreement’s goal of 2050.
