2040 will be: More equitable

Featuring

Climate Justice

By The Climate Pledge

/
Signatories are addressing climate injustice by supporting initiatives that promote gender equity, climate vulnerability, and sustainable livelihoods in vulnerable communities.

The worst consequences of climate change aren't evenly distributed. According to the World Bank, poorer countries have faced nearly eight times more natural disasters compared with three decades ago, resulting in a three-fold increase in economic damage.

This inequity demands action. Some signatories of the Pledge are championing a new era of climate justice, working independently to expand innovative solutions and prioritize climate action in vulnerable communities. This ensures that the benefits of a net-zero carbon future are equitably shared, leaving no one behind.

Signatory highlights:

- Amazon, Reckitt, and Visa: Contributed $20 million, along with other founding members, to the USAID-led Climate Gender Equity Fund, a public-private partnership aimed at increasing access to climate finance for women-led and women-benefiting organizations tackling climate change.
